Set up Supply Chain Operations for Acquisition Carveout – A $283M telecommunications company, preparing to acquire a regional telco network with revenue of $1B, needed assistance to develop and implement a plan to transition the supply chain network supplying equipment and parts for maintaining telco infrastructure, as well as to support new construction for extending the multi-state broadband network.
Approach & Actions
The project scope and approach for Phase 1 included a baseline of the existing supply chain network and operations, end-to-end supply chain process design, organizational restructuring, inventory transfer, ERP configuration for purchasing of 54,000 SKUs and 827 new vendors, establishment of 3PL service contracts, and transition of 1,900 fleet vehicles, 36 depots, 9 maintenance garages and a fuel storage yard.
Results
The Post-Acquisition (carve out) Supply Chain Integration plan was implemented over the course of 9 months, including transition of all facilities, equipment, vehicles, and inventory. Contracts were established with new vendors, including outsource warehousing, rigging, maintenance, and fuel services. ERP configuration for purchasing was completed for item master and suppliers. The company requested follow-on work for stabilization and change management.
